6m WSPR

Since last night I have been WSPRing again on 6m using the V2000 vertical and 2W.  Apart from good strong reports from G4IKZ at 18km nothing has been reported, including no GDX. I was hopeful that the odd European might have been copied, but no luck so far.  G4IKZ gets me very strongly and reports weaker sidebands sometimes +/-100Hz. I am not sure if this is a TX or RX problem. It is only noticeable on very strong signals.

Hi Roger,

I havent tried WSPR on 6m yet, but could easily set up to do so. I have a 3 el beam aimed roughly SSE.

I might set this up tonight and try it out tomorrow, let me know if you'd like to try it out

Only have a V2000 vertical here,. Can you beam vertically?

Not easily im afraid, I could easily swap the polarity, but not so easily increase the mast height to clear the roof!

Either way, I feel like trying it out, so who knows! It is a weak signal mode after all, lets see if it can cope with an added 20 or so dB cross polarisation!

Well, Im set-up for 6m WSPR. Just running a few tests now to ensure the PA temperature rise isnt a problem.

All being well i'll run the beacon tomorrow and just see what happens
