Getting more information

Just to remind you that I have a main website and video channel that have more information about my projects. As I always advise, treat my projects as starting points. You can probably improve most of the things I have done!

For most "one off" projects, my own view is a PCB is a waste of time. Me Pads and Me Squares or similar can make very neat solutions.

You can also find a link to the free PDF G3XBM Project Scrapbook there as well.

Overall, have fun.

As someone once said, "the journey is better than the destination". This reminds me of our younger son as a child. He always wanted to get to wherever we were going, but as soon as he got there he wanted to come home!

Ideas

Now is not the usual time to think about projects. The usual time is as the nights start to draw in and winter approaches.

I am still hoping my G3XBM Scrapbook will be available as a free PDF download by the end of May, but June is next week!!

In the meantime, take a look at my main G3XBM website. Hopefully you will find some ideas there.

As soon as that book is ready, I shall post a link here. At this rate, I suspect the book will be available mid June unless May is extended by Royal decree!!

Help please

Some months ago I changed my main G3XBM website to New Google Sites, but I cannot see how to insert a box with html code. This is probably easy but I can't see how to do it. If you know, please tell me!

My idea is to add live amateur radio news.

I can probably do it by embedding a page, but some browsers do not like embedding.

Main G3XBM website and YouTube channel

A reminder that my main G3XBM website has far more details of my projects and interests. Also, my YouTube video channel often has useful project information. Most data predates my stroke.

Optical link changed

A reminder that if you find any errors or omissions on my new web pages, please let me know so I can address them. Mike pointed out an old link that I have (hopefully!) corrected. I am sure there are others.

New website live

www.g3xbm.co.uk is now pointing to the new site. If there are any issues or you notice wrong pictures or errors, please let me know ASAP. For a while things may be wrong. Overall, things should be at least as good as the old site finally.

Website preview

This is a preview of my new webpages. I have not yet connected it to my main web address. I tried, but for some reason it did not work. Must be finger trouble. 😒

See https://sites.google.com/view/g3xbm4/home .

Any comments would be welcomed. Remember, use the sub-menus from "home" to navigate!

Some pages are incomplete or missing at the moment. I intend to correct these.

G3XBM history

My history in amateur radio goes right back to the early 1960s.  On my main website is a page about my history. In all those years we have seen many changes in our hobby. I still enjoy it.

Main G3XBM website

It is some time since I reminded readers of my main website. This is not updated as often as this blog, but you may find something that "tickles your fancy" as they say. There are plenty of projects to whet your appetite. Some projects were built and a few might inspire you to do something similar. You may just want to browse!

New video

It is a while since I posted a video on my YouTube channel G3XBM.  I have just made one showing the shack and antennas as of now in October 2018.

As my voice is not brilliant, there is no voice commentary, but there is music.

It was made with iMovie using my XYLs iPad. There is an Android version, I think, but I have not used this. It is a bit sad that my 7 year old granddaughter can use iMovie to make films better than me!

My main website

My main website, which has pages and pages of projects is at www.g3xbm.co.uk . Now it appears that Google want this to move to the new Google Sites. They offer a preview. I tried this. Yet again, it seems a step backwards.

I have, for now, dismissed it. Certainly it would require a lot of edits before switching. Why, oh why, do corporations make things worse? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Sorry Google, but why? Who gains?

G3XBM video channel

A reminder that quite a few of my projects are shown in YouTube videos on my channel G3XBM. Many of my projects can be seen here in videos made over the years. Most are amateur radio related, but a few are not.

My main website

A reminder that there is a lot of information on my main website at www.g3xbm.co.uk . This includes quite a few building projects as well as details of past and present experiments. These pages get updated periodically. Most projects are not complex as I don't do "difficult".

My main website

A reminder that my main website is at www.g3xbm.co.uk where, if you drill down, you will find details of my projects. There is also a YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/G3XBM. Hopefully, you will find something of interest. The blog gets updated most days whereas my main website and YouTube channels far less often.
