The photo shows the view from our kitchen window last night. It is now wet and windy.

A better day (Thursday) - NOT amateur radio

It has been mainly dry today. There are clouds in the sky, but it has not (yet) rained today. "Our" windmill next door looks splendid with a mainly blue sky and a cloud behind. The windmill is next door and this photo was from the lounge window

Threatening sky - NOT amateur radio

We have seen the extremes in our weather today. We have had rain, strong winds, sunshine, but no snow!

UPDATE 1747z:  Bright sunshine now!

East Anglian skies - NOT amateur radio

We get some great skies in East Anglia, but it is flatter than many parts of the UK. We still have hills, but they tend not to be as high as in some parts. This photo was meant to be of a windmill and 2 churches in Swaffham Prior across a cornfield, but they were hardly noticeable dots, so I concentrated on the sky instead!

East Anglian skies - NOT amateur radio

East Anglia is famous for not having hills. Well, there are some!

However, we have some great skies as the photo shows.

Skyscape - NOT amateur radio

East Anglia, UK, can be quite flat, but we do get some great skies as the photo shows. This was on our walk yesterday down to the River Cam, near Cambridge.

Angry sky - NOT amateur radio

This morning, the sun was shining. Now it is changeable with some sun then angry clouds. A few moments ago the sky behind "our" windmill looked very dark and threatening. Now we have blue sky again!

Angry sky

Today is our church fete. Traditionally, it never rained on this June Saturday, so much so that people used to ring up the vicar and ask him the date of the church fete and book that day for a wedding!

In recent years we have had a few wet days and today they had most of the stalls inside the church.

The rain held off, but the sky looked angry. The photos show an angry sky behind my antennas (V2000 vertical omni and 2m big-wheel horizontal omni).

Angry sky - NOT amateur radio

We are on holiday in Portugal. So far, we have had lots of rain, although it is already much sunnier and drier. Tomorrow is expected to be warm (24deg C) and sunny.
Plenty of swifts, swallows, house martins and sand martins about.

Angry sky - NOT amateur radio

At the moment, it gets dark early. From later this week the evenings get lighter, although mornings get darker until early January. With "our" windmill in the foreground the angry sky late today was great. Roll on warm summer evenings! It only seems 5 minutes since it got dark at 10pm!

Big skies - NOT amateur radio

In East Anglia hills and mountains are hard to come by! What we do have are big skies. Norfolk and Suffolk have more hills than you might expect, but these tend to be gentle hills rarely over 100m ASL. We also have lots of medieval churches with round towers!

The photo was taken from a moving car about 1 mile from our home in Cambridgeshire.

Mackerel Sky - NOT amateur radio

Today has been another hot day, but there was a cooler breeze this evening when this sky was visible over "our" windmill next door.

Best deals in UK for phones, TV and broadband?

Just wondering what people think is the best deal currently available for TV, phones and broadband? Currently I have TV from Sky, phone calls from Sky (£25 - broadband and free anytime package with line still with BT at around £13) and 10M broadband from Virgin Media at £18. BT have offered me "up to 20M" broadband and free anytime phones for just £9.70 a month, plus £10/month line rental. This seems a very good deal. Whatever, I surely must be able to save by getting everything from one supplier.

What package do YOU have and how much should I expect to pay to get TV, decent broadband and free anytime phone (with line rental)?
